Constitutionalism was created to address the problem of exercising power. Before the implementation of constitutionalism, Kings were the only authorities who could exercise power and control, and thus, in doing so, people were not treated equally. Kings were considered Gods, and their power and authority were deemed to be derived from God. Because of this reason, their authority and rules could not be challenged, and if by some chance someone did question it, it was considered treason. With the implementation of constitutionalism, the concept of exercised power changed that is now, people were to decide about constitutions as the government is made out of people.
